Types of Massage Techniques Offered at Avalon
  • Myofascial Release: uses sustained stretching to address the fascial system or "glue that holds us together. It helps the body loosen from from built-up tension and is particularly helpful for areas that have been subjected to trauma, stress, or chronic pain.
  • Jin Shin Jyutsu: balances the body's energies in order to promote optimal health and well-being. It helps one relax and reduces stress. The use of "safety energy locks" (similar to acupoints) help relieve stagnation which can effect the surrounding area as well as disrupt the balance of the whole being.
  • Relaxation: also known as Swedish relaxes while reducing stress and restoring energy. This is full-body one-hour massage with scented or unscented oil. For those who need deeper work, this technique can be used to reach specific areas. It is also helpful for shortening recovery time after an injury.
